As a person of color (POC), sometimes it’s difficult to know whether you are being treated poorly because of the color of your skin or you are just the victim of a rude human. However, other times it’s pretty freaking clear that you have been profiled. Being profiled sucks and the best way to get the tension out is by talking about it.
Profiled will be a space for people to share their horrible experiences with some humor, while the audience learns about profiling from anecdotal experiences and research.

Marcela Onyango is a writer/comedian/actor based in NYC. She graduated with a BA in International Relations and Economics with hopes of changing the world. Then she thought if she just got a Masters of Public Administration at the American University in Washington, DC people would take her world changing motives seriously. But after living in DC for 7 years, she became disillusioned by politics and sought comedy as an opportunity to discuss serious topics and frankly just complain about how terrible everything is. She produces and hosts an almost weekly news show Feel the News.
Lauren Clark is a New York City based comedian, actress, writer, filmmaker, improv coach and teacher. She graduated in 2011 after studying Creative Writing & Vocal Performance at DePauw University in Greencastle, IN. Since moving to NYC in early 2012 she has been part of the cast and crew for various web series, shorts, indie films, plays and podcasts. Currently, she is a regular touring actress with STORY PIRATES while also performing stand-up and characters at various comedy venues throughout the city.
