Jamal Moss, aka Hieroglyphic Being, started making lo-fi dance tracks in the mid ’90s, long before it was the sound du jour. Over the past two decades he’s produced music at a staggering pace — to the tune of several albums each year — amassing a catalogue that includes releases on Soul Jazz, Planet Mu and his own Mathematics Recordings, and spans house, techno, noise, industrial and avant-jazz. In his sets, he blurs the line between DJing and live performance, resulting in a distinctive, at times otherworldly experience. Tonight, he plays from open to close. It will not be your average club set, not by a long shot.
