Moth to Flame Jazz, newly expanded to a jazz quintet, has been performing their unique blend of hard bop, Latin, funk and fusion throughout the tri-state region for eight years.
Influenced by the music of Shorter, Hancock, Corea, Metheny, Santamaria, Jarrett and Zawinul, as well as Rodrigo, Sanit-Saens, and Rachmaninoff, Moth to Flame Jazz has been thrilling audiences at venues as disparate as intimate jazz clubs and standing room only outdoor festivals.
Their eclectic mix of fusion, classical, jazz, rhythm and blues, progressive rock, funk and world music can be heard on their first CD of original compositions, soon to be released.
Whether playing their own arrangements of songs by Weather Report, Return to Forever, Herbie Hancock, the Grateful Dead (yes, the Dead, fusionized), and Santana, or performing their original tunes, this band enjoys a broad cross-section of appeal, and is a must see on the NYC jazz circuit.
Come witness the rebirth of Moth to Flame Jazz.
